📊 Qlik as a Business Application Platform? I'm In.

Hey, it’s Brian again 👋

Last week, we looked at how Qlik Answers is quietly reshaping how teams work with unstructured knowledge in Qlik Cloud - and judging by your replies, a lot of you have been waiting for that upgrade.

This week - we’re going bigger.

📍 We’re live on the ground at Qlik Connect 2025 in Orlando, and I’ve got something special lined up for you.

Because while everyone’s talking about AI, dashboards, and write-back, one partner is showing how to bring all of that together.

🧠 In this edition, we’re going deep on Leitart – the team behind the Data+ Suite - who are quietly transforming Qlik from “just BI” into full-blown business applications.

If you’ve ever tried to plan, collaborate, or act inside your dashboards - and felt like you were pushing against the limits – this issue is for you.

💡 And yes, I’ve included the extension that brings back custom styling after the Multi-KPI deprecation.

Let’s dive in 👇

In Today’s Issue

I’m going to cover these things with you today!

  1. But First… Live at Qlik Connect - Bringing you the most important news from Orlando!

  2. But First (2) - WhatsApp for Qlik is changing the way your execs and field teams converse with Qlik data.

  3. Cool Tool - Superhuman AI - Learn new AI skills you can use at work in 3 mins a day

  4. Deep Dive - How Leitart Turns Qlik Into a Business Application Platform - Focusing on the amazing Data+ Suite of extensions and apps.

🔍 Deep Dive – Why "Good Enough" Isn’t Good Enough: How Leitart Turns Qlik Into a Business Application Platform

If you haven’t met them yet, Leitart is a Qlik partner based in Germany with deep roots in the manufacturing sector and over a decade of experience building scalable, embedded BI solutions.

At the helm are Sebastian Nädtke and Achim Gnadt - both long-time Qlik Partners who’ve helped shape how Qlik is used in real-world, operational contexts. From procurement to production to planning, their team has delivered over 300 projects and built 500+ Qlik apps that go beyond just reporting.

Achim Gnadt and Sebastian Nädtke

Their philosophy? Don’t just build dashboards - build apps your team actually loves to use.

That’s exactly what they’re bringing to Booth 507 at Qlik Connect 2025.

With their Data+ Suite, they’re turning Qlik from a read-only BI tool into a fully interactive Business Application Platform - packed with write-back, planning, automation, and AI.

If you’re serious about activating your data, go talk to to Leitart.

Their bigger message this year is clear:

"Good enough" isn’t good enough anymore.

That’s the core of their latest campaign - and the reason their Data+ Suite is catching attention.

Here’s what they’re doing, why it matters, and how you can see it live.

The Big Idea

Leitart isn’t just another extension vendor.

They’re reimagining what Qlik can be: not just a BI tool, but a Business Application Platform.

And their Data+ Suite makes that real.

With Data+, you can:

→ Input data directly into Qlik dashboards
→ Turn read-only reports into interactive planning tools
→ Embed AI predictions, write-back, and automations
→ Trigger actions across systems like Teams, Outlook, and databases - without leaving Qlik

This isn’t future vision. It’s running in production today, across 300+ implementations.

And it includes features the Qlik community is already missing.

Solving the Multi-KPI Problem

One of the hottest discussions among Partner Ambassadors in recent weeks: Qlik deprecated the Multi-KPI object.

While this makes sense technically, it left a real gap for developers who relied on it to inject custom CSS into their Qlik apps - to tweak spacing, fonts, layout, and design beyond the default.

Leitart stepped in.

As part of the Data+ Suite, they’ve released the Visualize extension, now shared freely with the Qlik community.

It restores that lost flexibility and lets you style Qlik objects like you used to - with native-feeling results.

It’s especially useful for advanced planning use cases, like Gantt charts that feel fully integrated - perfect for timelines, product roadmaps, or shop floor scheduling.

And yes, they’ll be demoing it live at Qlik Connect.

What You Can Actually Do With It

Let’s make this concrete.

Data+ includes:

  • Data+ Table → Enables data to be edited and entered directly in the Qlik Sense interface – external planning tools become superfluous.

  • Data+ Forms → Capture structured inputs through customizable forms, ideal for workflows like approvals, checklists, or status updates within Qlik.

  • Data+ Timeline → Automate and visualize your business processes in Qlik – from multi-step approvals to integrated data workflows.

  • Data+ Flow → Visualize time-based planning, project steps, or resource allocation directly in Qlik with an interactive Gantt chart component.

  • Data+ Server → Seamlessly connect external systems with your Qlik apps – enabling real-time integration, custom triggers, and external data control.

You can build apps that let users:

→ Update sales targets or forecasts
→ Submit comments, exceptions, or approvals
→ Modify production schedules live
→ Feed that data straight into a model, a report, or a system of record

No need for Excel. No context-switching.
No more analytics in one place, and action in another.

As Leitart puts it:

"Collaborate, plan, act - seamlessly and with AI/ML support."

The AI Angle

This isn’t just input and workflow.

Leitart is bringing AI and AutoML into the mix - and making it accessible.

One example:

→ Predict outcomes in Qlik using AutoML
→ Show explanations (SHAP values) for predictions
→ Let users tweak the inputs in real time to improve accuracy

All from within the Qlik app.

Or this:

→ Ask a question in Teams (Adaptive Card)
→ That query triggers a Qlik ML model
→ The result is returned straight into the chat

And yes - the data can flow back into Qlik, too.

Why This Matters

Every Qlik user has been there:

→ You want to adjust the plan
→ But the dashboard is read-only
→ So you export to Excel, edit there, email it back, and hope for the best

Data+ ends that cycle.

And instead of building custom apps from scratch, Leitart gives you plug-and-play tools to do it fast - while keeping your Qlik investment intact.

"Small investment, big impact."

They’re not wrong.

Where To See It

Live demos of Data+ at Qlik Connect
Real use cases: production planning, supply chain, finance, sales
Ask the team how to get started (they’re offering test licenses too)

And if you want to see how far this can go - ask them about the live chess game they built inside Qlik.

Yes. A chess game. In Qlik.

Because when Qlik becomes your business application platform, "dashboard" barely scratches the surface.
